Use your BBQ grill to cook the Karubi and place it on the rice, that is the best combination to enjoy with.
※Please use proper BBQ grill, don’t use normal pan.
Beef Karubi-don Recipe ( カルビ丼 )
What you will need:
500g of Karubi Plate – Sliced
4 bowls of Cooked rice
2 tbsp Japanese Shoyu (Light Soy Sauce)
1 tbsp Ryorishu (Japanese Cooking Sake/Wine)
1 tbsp Mirin
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Oyster sauce
3 cloves of Garlic (finely chopped)
1 Yellow Onion (grated)
1 tbsp Ginger (grated)
1 tsp Sesame Oil
A crack of freshly groundedd black pepper
A pinch of Sea salt
Chopped Scallions (optional)
Toasted Sesame Seeds (optional)
1. Prepare a bowl and put all the marinade ingredients (★) together.
Add in the sliced beef karubi and mix well. Make sure the meat is covered with the marinade sauce.
Cover bowl and leave to chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight.
2. Heat up your BBQ Grill to medium high heat.
Add about 1 tsp of cooking oil and make sure it coats the grill well.
Then put a few pieces of the sliced beef karubi to cook.
Fry both sides until cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside when finished.
3. Fill the rice bowls with rice. Arrange the cooked beef onto the rice.
Add in the garnish & serve. Itadakimasu!
